When choosing your beauty salon, what do you look for?

Do you choose your beauty salon because it’s convenient and you’re time-poor?  Or do you select your go-to beauty salon because of the beauty therapist? What draws you in when considering a beauty salon?

Here are some tips to consider when choosing the beauty salon where you are preparing to spend your valuable time and money.

Is the beauty salon situated at a comfortable distance travel-wise?

Is it aesthetically pleasing to the eye?

Is there plenty of parking?

Does it smell good when you enter it?

Does it look clean?

Does the beauty salon offer the treatments/services that meet your needs?

Is the cost of the treatments within your budget?

I know if we had a bottomless source of money, we may choose differently—or would we? I know that when the majority of us really want something, whatever it may be, we find the means to acquire it somehow.

Very importantly, does your beauty salon house a professional, certified beauty therapist?

Don’t assume your beauty therapist is certified, because I promise you, some salons hire staff that have had 3 days training and they are performing and practising the treatments on you.  So don’t be afraid to ask your therapist about their qualifications if they are not displayed anywhere.

Does the beauty salon offer secure private therapy rooms?

Do you feel comfortable with your beauty therapist?

Is the beauty therapist professional?

It is a good idea to stick to the beauty salon of your choice long term, so that you build a relationship with your beauty therapist. In doing so, you feel comfortable and safe in their hands and you can trust you are receiving the best care.

What I offer in my beauty salon is a space where my clients can relax and chat about personal things without worrying about it going any further. I care about my clients and think that’s important when choosing a beauty salon.  Compassion goes a long way.

Quick-fix skin treatments aren’t always the ideal way to go for your skin health in the long term, so be careful when choosing what treatments the beauty salon you choose offers.

Beauty salons have evolved through the years, as they should.  The technology available now has advanced in leaps and bounds.  Please take care when choosing any treatments that you are unsure of.  We see the devastating results of permanent or devastating damage caused by unskilled practitioners or new technology that hasn’t done the distance to know the long-term results.  That is why building a trusting relationship with your beauty therapist is a must.

Look for a beauty salon that invests its time in taking care of you. We really need that in our lives right now. The world has changed dramatically in a negative way, and we need not only self-care but also the care and support of others.

Write a list of what your beauty needs are.

How often can you visit your beauty salon?

Depending on what the treatment is, I recommend, for example, waxing every 4 to 6 weeks.

Regular facials every month (or more often if you do a specialised regime).

Massage every day (you wish), at least monthly, etc.

Very importantly, don’t leave your beauty salon without booking your next appointment. Time will get the better of you, and before you know it, months will have passed.

I wish you all the best in finding the beauty salon that works with you to make you feel and look your best.
